The Bridal Shower- How To Plan Your Guest List

So, you're in charge of planning the bridal shower? The first thing you have to start with is the guest list! There are a few factors to consider before you start telling people they're invited, however... (Trust me, that never works out well!)

  1. Talk to the bride. Find out what she's thinking in terms of the size of the shower, ideas for possible locations, and the overall feel she would like. Obviously your personal budget and time constraints are to take into consideration as well, since you are being so generous already in throwing this shower! Just make sure you're on the same page.
  2. Find out who she wants to come! Traditionally, women from all aspects of the bride's life are invited, but again, it all depends on your bride and your plans. Consider female family, friends, classmates, co-workers, neighbors, teachers, hair stylists, teammates, etc. Always invite all of the bridesmaids, even if they don't live close by. There shouldn't be any pressure for out-of-owners to come to this, but an invite is always nice, and you never know!
  3. Find out where they're registered. This is definitely information you want to include on the invite! Makes shopping easy for guests, the bride gets what she wants, and guests not attending can still send a gift.
  4. Anything special?? Are you doing a theme? (separate blog post with ideas coming soon!) A color scheme? Is there a dress code? Anywhere specific to park? Be sure to plan this all out ahead of time so that invites go out complete and well organized. And make sure you get invites sent out at least 4 weeks prior to the shower!

Have fun at your bridal shower!
